Wii Games

We have had our wii for a few years now and have bought/rented quite a few games. I thought I would share some of our favorites. Keep in mind the people that play the wii most often in our home are my sons, ages 5 and 7. And of course, my husband and I play sometimes, too.:) I also tend to stick to the multi player games. Life is much easier that way.:) Here are our favorites:

Mario Party 8 (great for the whole family.)

Boom Blox
(created by Steven Spielberg. Good for kids and grown-ups.)

Lego Star Wars

Lego Indiana Jones

Lego Batman
(my boys love the lego games, can you tell?)

Wii Play
(fun, silly short games. You also get a bonus remote!)

Mario Galaxy
(We borrowed this one from my brother. Matt and the boys passed the game within a few weeks. It claims to be a 2 player game, but is more like 1 and 1/2 players. Which can be a good thing if you have little ones that want to play, but don't understand the whole deal. In this game they can be the helper.)

Mario Super Sluggers
(this is our newest addition and the boys love it!)

Donkey Kong Barrel Blasters
(haven't played this one in a while, but it's pretty fun.)

Mario and Sonic Olympic Games
(good for kids and grown-ups.)

Rockband
(I like the idea of this and it's really fun. However, the song choices aren't great and you can't download new ones. I wish the gamemakers of these types of games would include current rock, or at least some pop rock. Most of the songs are older hard rock songs. A few of them are great. But I think there are plenty of pop rock songs that have good guitar/bass/drum solos that would have been much better choices, and much more popular choices for the average joe. Just my opinion...)

I have yet to try the Wii Fit. What are your opinions on that?

We have also downloaded some of our favorite N64 games that we loved. We have Dr. Mario, which I LOVE. Although the downside to this version is it's only 2 player. We also have Mario Kart. I know they have since released a Wii version of this game which I haven't played. I love the N64 version of it, though. Now, if only they would release N64 007!! I have read that this will never happen, which is sad. Such a great game!!

Which games do you love?

I would try Wii games before you buy them. Some of the games we have rented or borrowed would not be worth the money.

Wow!! Great review!! We will have to check some of these out.

We just got Guitar Hero World Tour, which is like Rock Band! It is pretty fun and I think the songs are a little better.

We love Mario Kart. We have 3 steering wheels so we can all play. Finn even has his own "steering" wheel because he like to play along too!

If you will use the Wii Fit then I suggest it. We have had it for almost a year and have used it twice! It was okay... My honest opinion. Joey is also very into the Lego games. He loves the SW and Batman. Maybe we will have to try the IJ Lego.. Thanks!

I agree about Rockband! I played at a neighbors and it was hard! Plus the songs weren't all that fun!

Luke loves Super Mario Galaxy and MarioKart. For Christmas I got him Da Blob and he likes it but gets bored with it easily. I really wanted to get him Boom Blox, but wasn't sure about it. I really think he'd love it because of the whole "blowing stuff up" aspect of the game. I just wasn't sure if it'd be too complicated for him. I guess if he can play Mario Galaxy then he can play a lot of rated E games, huh??? I bought Dance Dance Revolution for myself as a workout and I really love it, but never have time to play it.

Very cool to know. We are looking at buying a wii. Our girls are still too young to understand and 'play' but the hubby and I are interested in good family fun :)

Rats i just typed a long comment and blogger was down so it wiped it!

I like Wii Fit but I don't use it enough. I think it takes to much time to go between the exercises.

Trelise loves Diego - she's pretty good at it and only played it three times.

I got Wii Music for Christmas and it's ok - not quite me!

I want to get Hell's Kitchen - I love Gordon Ramsay!!

Wii fit is great, as long as you don't want it to replace going to the gym or something. But, to get you off the couch and moving, it's fun. Plus you can do a daily body test that tracks your weight, BMI, and your balance. Fun!

Mario Kart for the Wii is awesome by the way! My brothers and I love that one!

We love the Lego games as well, and Alexa has a Littlest Petshop game that is fun...and Wii Sports is pretty popular...wehave the Wii Fit, but I don't think it is really what it seems, in that it would be good for setting goals, and keeping track of your BMI and weight, but it is still set up as a game. What a great idea, I always need some good tips!!
