Twilight Craze!

Okay, so I went to the Twilight movie last night at the midnight showing. Holy madness! 14 screens sold out weeks in advance, masses of people, people completely decked out in prom attire, with tattoos and glitter on their faces. No big deal, right? For some of these people, it was definitely a big deal!
Not for me. I haven't read a word of the books. (I know, probably one of the only people that haven't. I haven't read Harry Potter, either, for the record...) I haven't seen a movie trailer of any kind. I would have to be dead to not have heard about any of it, but honestly I knew very little. I knew there was a girl named Bella and two boys named Edward and Jacob. I knew Edward was a vampire and there was some type of love triangle going on. That's pretty much it. My sister got tickets to this midnight showing weeks ago for my mom, my 3 sisters, and two sis-in-laws. Oh, and me, of course.
I have to say, I enjoyed this movie a lot! I really liked it. I almost want to know more of the story. There were definitely moments in the movie where everyone started laughing, or reacting in some way which didn't make sense to me. I had to lean over and ask my sister what I had missed. Is it too late to start at this point? Seems kind of late to jump on the bandwagon now. I am definitely intrigued... Maybe you'll see me in my prom dress at the next midnight premier...ok, probably not...

Jamie! You NEED to read the books! It's totally not too late/ you'll have them finished in a couple weeks tops! The movie didn't do the book justice - I just hope that seeing the movie first won't ruin the book for you.

Oh you lucky duck!! I read all of the books, and am dying to go see the movie!! I am waiting on my sister to finish Twilight so she can go with me. You should for sure read the books. It is just silly, mindless, fun, escape reading. Who doesn't love that???

Okay, I just saw your top visitor poll on the side and now I am going to have to come back twice a day! Nothing like a little bloggy competition to get me going!

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who hasn't read these books.

I'm about to fold under peer pressure I think...there are SO many people talking about the books and the movie...sheeh!

Twilight is all the rage. I haven't read it either, so I have no clue about it, but it looks like fun.

You should read the books! I am with you on harry potter! This really is NOT my type of genre- but they are interesting page-turners!

You really SHOULD read the books. I promise you will love them! So much fun!

Did you happen to be at the Jordan Common's in Sandy?

I love hearing that you loved the movie (and had not read the books). I was curious as to what people who weren't into the books would be thinking. The books have so much more!

Jamie! Go read the books right now. Right now. They are way better than the movie.

It is never too late to jump on the bandwagon. I have the books if you want to borrow them. Just so you know the books are so much better.
